How do I use the Yim Siam service?
Simply call the access number: 0844 474 5555 - wait for the voice prompt and then dial the complete international number. It's as simple as this. How you get charged for the call to Thailand and other overseas countries is explained below.

How do I register for the Yim Siam service?
To use Yim Sian you do not have to register. You just dial the access number: 0844 474 5555 that allows you to phone Thailand and over 80 other destinations any time, any day.

If I am unable to dial the Yim Siam access number?
Yim Siam has notified other operators like BT, Virgin Media and mobile providers to recognise our access numbers on their networks. It is possible that some providers may not have updated their networks and you could find that our access number is not available from all networks. If you do experience this problem, then please contact your service provider, tell them the access number for Yim Siam is: 0844 474 5555 and ask if they can open up this telephone number on their network.

Are there any administration, subscription or other fees?
The price stated to call the Yim Siam access number is all-inclusive of VAT and the international call to the dialed number. There are no additional connection or subscription costs.

How much does it actually cost to make a call to Thailand?
First, you dial the access number for Yim Siam: 0844 474 5555 and then you need to dial the number in Thailand. The cost of calling this Yim Siam access number is 5 pence per minute, which includes VAT and the cost of the international part of the call. Calls are billed per second, which means a call to Thailand via this Yim Siam access number that lasts for 5 minutes and 30 seconds will have a total cost of 5.5 minutes x 5p = 27.5p. Your service provider usually charges a minimum charge for each call. For example BT has a 5p minimum charge for any numbers beginning with 0844. For minimum charges on other networks please contact your service provider.

Can I use the Yim Siam service from payphones?
The Yim Siam access number is accessible from any UK phone, including payphones. However, be aware that calls from payphones could incur a surcharge levied by the payphone provider and may cost more than the normal Yim Siam price of 5 pence per minute.

Can I use Yim Siam for cheaper calls to UK landlines?
Yim Siam is a provider of low-cost international calls to Thailand and also to over 200 other destinations, which can be called via our access numbers from only 5 pence per minute. We charge 5 p/min to call UK landlines via 0844 474 5555, but it is usually cheaper to use your normal telephone provider for calls within UK.

How are my calls billed?
The charges for calls to the Yim Siam access number will simply appear on your normal phone bill from your telephone service provider (e.g. BT, Virgin Media or mobile network). So, for example, if you make a 10 minute call to Thailand from a BT or Virgin Media phone via the Yim Siam access number: 0844 474 5555 which is charged at 5 pence per minute, the next time you get your BT or Virgin Media bill you will see a call to our access number, a duration of 10 minutes and a total charge of 10 min x 5p = 50p.

Can I ring from my mobile?
Yes, you can. However be aware that you may be surcharged by your mobile operator. How much you will be charged depends on your mobile operator and which tariff plan you have. Please note your mobile operator controls this rate through their billing system, and unfortunately, we have no influence on what they may charge. We advise you to get in touch with your mobile phone provider to double check their rates to our access numbers.

Are there peak and off-peak rates?
No - all Yim Siam access numbers are the same price to call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For all other landline and mobile charges please check with your service provider.

Can I use these access numbers outside the UK?
YES - but our access numbers will only work from certain countries. So if you are abroad or if you are on holiday outside the UK you will need to test the Yim Siam service first by dialing +44 844 474 5555.

I am a Virgin Media customer; can I use the Yim Siam service?
Our access numbers can be used from most landlines including Virgin Media. The billing process for our access numbers works exactly the same as with BT; the charges will simply appear on your Virgin Media bill. Virgin Media should charge the same rates as BT for calls to Yim Siam access numbers.

When do call charges take effect?
You will be charged from the moment when the call is answered at the other end.

Could Yim Siam accidentally overcharge me?
No, Yim Siam cannot overcharge you. The per-minute charges to our access number are set by the Office of Communications (OFCOM) the UK telecommunications regulator. It is normal for all UK landline service providers to adhere to the charges set by OFCOM. If you think you have been overcharged, we advise that you contact your service provider to contest the bill. When I ring someone abroad will they be charged for the call as well?
If you are calling a landline then normally the person receiving a call will never be charged. If you are calling a mobile phone in a country which operates a ‘mobile party pays’ charging system, then the person receiving a call will be charged by their network provider.

'SAFE-CALL' NUMBERS: How much does the call cost me?
It costs you nothing. People calling a 'Safe-Call' number from a standard BT home or business phone are charged at the BT rate of 50 pence per minute. Where callers use an alternative operator to make the call to a 'Safe-Call' number the call will be charged at that operator's rate for calls to personal numbering services. The cost of calling a safe-call number from a mobile phone varies depending on the mobile network the call is being made from. Mobile operators are obliged to make their call charges readily available to their customers.

'SAFE-CALL' NUMBERS: If I call a 'Safe-Call' number will I get charged if no one answers the phone?
No, you only get charged if the call is answered, including an answer machine or voicemail.

'SAFE-CALL' NUMBERS: Do I have to pay for the 'Safe-Call'?
The customer calling the safe-call number pays for the call. There are no other charges involved.

 'SAFE-CALL' NUMBERS: Will it cost me more if I dial a 'Safe-Call' number from a mobile phone?
Calling a safe-call number from a mobile phone normally costs more than if you called from a land line. The cost of calling a safe-call number from a mobile phone varies depending on the mobile network the call is being made from.
